Men Are Getting It!

Cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures in the country are still mostly sought after by women, but nowadays there are more and more men that are choosing to have these procedures done. There has been a recent boom in methods that enhance appearance that are non-surgical, and men are now getting involved.

In most cases, men do not want these procedures to be obvious to people they know, so they do not want any recovery time that would mess with their busy schedules. Nowadays, men pay more attention to how their skin appears due to the higher awareness of skin cancer, and of course men also like to improve their appearance when they can. The elasticity of skin is negatively affected by UV light from the sun, and this is one of the reasons that those who look more aged are those who have had more sun exposure.

The damage that is caused by the sun can be partially repaired and protected using advancements in skin care techniques. After shaving each day is a good time to quickly apply it, and before bed a little more could be applied.

Of the types of procedures available, men specifically seem to consider rhinoplasty. This may be due to the self-consciousness about a big nose, of an odd shape or a crooked nose. Rhinoplasty is generally performed as a day patient under a general anaesthetic and return to work is possible after a week but some bruising may persist for as long as two weeks.

The scars from a procedure like blepharoplasty and neck or face lifts are negligible, so men are also attracted to these procedures. Men do not wish to look like a lot of work has been done. With men in general, less is more and they would rather accept a few lines than have a conspicuous post-surgical appearance that makes them self-conscious.

Fat is targeted in men using exercise and proper diet regimes, but even so, there are still some areas that have fat remaining. The abdomen is where most men have excess fat, or in the flank area. Shaping of these regions with liposuction can be done as a day patient and return to work the next day is usually possible which can suit the busy male lifestyle.

Accompanying this expanding interest in the muscular athletic male body is a desire for hair removal. Using the latest advances in laser technology, hair removal has become more and more effective in recent years. For the selected areas of the body, several treatments are needed, and one should avoid tanning before undergoing this process.

Men have these procedures done because of their own concerns, and they are not the same as what motivates women. Men have to compete in their field of business, and appearance has something to do with this. Men want to look like a younger version of themselves, so it is recommended that men seek out a cosmetic surgeon who has experience working on men.
