A General Outlook On The Use Of Liquid HCG Diet

By Claudine MacDonald

Use of liquid hCG diet is rapidly becoming a method of choice for people in need of losing some weight. Discovered about three decades ago, this method was at first looked down upon to be inferior to the use of injections until just recently when it was shown to be as equally effective. There has been an increase in shifting of preference to the liquid and oral form because it is convenient to use and less painful.

hCG stands for the name human chorionic gonadotrophic is a term referring to a hormone that is usually produced during pregnancy by mother and can be detected in urine. The levels of this hormone generally increase up to about 12 weeks after which they become constant and even fall. This makes it very useful in the detection of early pregnancies; in addition, the levels can be used to assess any birth defects that a fetus may have.

Among the many functions it may have, one important one is to ensure that the developing fetus is able to get enough calories of nutrients that is needed to be able to grow irrespective of the daily maternal intake. Through acting on the hypothalamus in the brain, the hormone stimulates breaking down of abnormal fat deposits found around the hips, abdomen or upper arms among other areas.

Combining this action with a low calorie diet this facilitates loss of weight. Considering that the hormone only targets fat deposits that are exaggerated or abnormal, the individual is able to maintain normal fat tissues therefore preventing skin sagging. It therefore helps both to reshape the body and to produce weight loss.

Liquid hCG usually comes in two different parts, the liquid serum part and the powder hormone part. To be effective, these parts must be well mixed before the mixture can be used. There are also special types of preparations that are in the market that do not need to be mixed. Mixing was already done in the manufacturing; the only disadvantage is that they are more expensive.

Functionally the liquid and injection preparations of hCG have the same potency of action. For the liquid form, the recommended number of drops to be used in a day is 4 usually administered sublingually. This is done for a period of 21 days and is estimated that approximately 1 pound will be lost each day. The results are achieved faster when there is a supplementary 500 calorie diet.

This method is much easier to use both for the administrator and the user. There is no need for needles and expertise of delivery and the process is less painful. The dosage can also easily be divided into a morning 2 drop treatment and then another 2 drops to complete the 4 daily drops in the evening.

In terms of costs, the liquid hCG diet is much cheaper compared to the use of injections for delivery. The consequences of this mode are less severe to the patients; they are at a lesser risk of cramps and traumatic pains form the pricking. Also no medical prescriptions are necessary before a patient can be able to start using it unlike for the injections where there must be specific instructions.
