Botox Hot Spots

There are many cosmetic reasons for which Botox injections are widely used. As more people seek to change their looks and shave off years with this simple and quick treatment, there has been a significant increase in its use in the last few years. Its popularity is primarily due to the speed of the procedure, the simplicity of the whole process, the quality results and how affordable it generally is.

Fine lines and wrinkles on the face are a common treatment area for botox; it relaxes the muscles and skin when it is applied. The three main sites most often injected are:

- Forehead wrinkles

- Crow's feet lines around the eyes

- Vertical '11' lines between eyebrows

Forehead wrinkles

This is probably the most common site amongst the three above where botox is injected, and is commonly called frown lines. It is natural for frown lines and wrinkles to form here because the forehead muscles are constantly being used and the skin and muscles are constantly under stress. It is considered one of the first signs of ageing, which is why this is targeted first. Forehead lines seem to be the most troublesome amongst all facial creases for patients. Treatment is simple, quick and effective and requires no anaesthesia. Repeat injections are usually required to preserve the crease-free look, but effects can last up to 6 months.

Crow's feet lines around the eyes

Crow's feet refer to fine lines that form at the corners of the eyes due to constant muscle use. It is an unfortunate yet unavoidable sign of ageing. Botox injections restore the look of younger, healthier skin by effectively reducing these lines, all without giving the skin a stretched appearance. Crow's feet treatment is the next sought-after treatment. Effects can last for a period of up to 6 months following which additional treatments may be required, as is the case with other botox treatments.

Vertical '11' lines

When frowning, these are the two lines that form between the eyebrows. Botox injections are useful in reducing the depth of these lines and smoothens them out effectively. Performing this procedure takes 10 or 15 minutes, with excellent results.

Botox is most often injected on the face into these top 3 sites. Botox injections around the mouth may be performed, and there are other sites like chin lifts, although these are much less common.

Conclusion

Botox still remains one of the most preferred treatments when it comes to achieving great cosmetic results that will result in younger looking skin devoid of fine lines and wrinkles.
